Dr. Brandon Needham is currently a rural school principal with the Good Spirit School Division (GSSD). As an in-school administrator, Brandon is keenly interested in how the infusion of Indigenous histories, cultures, and perspectives in the curriculum can lead to meaningful advances toward reconciliation.

Brandon holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Regina, where his research focuses on education for truth and reconciliation. In addition to his work toward reconciliation education, he has also dedicated his attention to several projects exploring treaty education, specifically the work of Treaty Catalyst Teachers. Since completing his doctoral degree, Brandon has had the privilege of sharing his research provincially, nationally, and most recently at the International Symposium for Innovation in Rural Education this past August. Along with earning a doctoral degree, Brandon was recently named a CBC Saskatchewan Future 40 Award winner, which recognizes the outstanding contribution of individuals in the province of Saskatchewan who make a difference. His nomination spoke of his dedicated work around truth and reconciliation education, thus affirming the work Brandon has undertaken to transform his school community into a site where truth and reconciliation can be imagined and enacted.
